Besides how the software is now, updating the phone over its lifetime will also be LG's responsibility. The best indicator of this is to see how LG has treated its customers in the past on other flagship devices. Android 7.0 rollouts first started hitting last year's LG G5 in November, two-and-a-half months after the first availability of Google's new OS. That rollout was only to a select group of unlocked G5s in Korea, though. In the US, LG actually just finished the Nougat rollout in February, taking almost six months to update everything.
Once the phone is a year old, LG support gets iffy. LG originally said it would not update its 2015 flagships, the LG G4 and LG V10, to Nougat. It you count from the initial release of Nougat, that would have given the G4 less than 15 months of major update support, and the LG V10 would have had less than nine months of update support. After a public outcry, LG reversed course. The company now says (in Korea) it will deliver Android 7.0 Nougat to "the V10 in the second half of this year and for the G4 in the third quarter." That would be at least 10 months after Nougat's launch, but keep in mind this is the release date for Korea, which usually gets the updates first. In the US, the timing of the updates is probably left to your local carrier.
LG G4, V10 will still get Android 7.0 Nougat this year
LG had expected the G5, released earlier this year, would help revitalize its declining smartphone sales and generate interest in modularity. Its latest financials and executive reshuffling, however, indicate the G5 isn't moving the needle in any meaningful way for the company.
LG's V20 needs to be awesome since the company is not expected to be working with Google to produce a Nexus phone this year. Huawei and HTC, instead, have been reportedly contracted to build this year's Nexus phones.
The loudspeaker is located at the rear of the phone. It goes louder than the G4 and is a lot clearer too. I will cover off the headphone quality later on, but needless to say this phone rocks an awesome DAC and headphone amp.
The manual video mode then provides granular controls of all aspects of taking photos. The shutter can stay open for 30 seconds. In all honesty the V10 provides one of the best camera experiences I have ever seen on a smartphone. But even if you just leave it in auto, you will still end up with incredible photos. HDR can be left in Auto and therefore turns on as required.
Latest news: Android 8 Oreo is out now, so we expect to see a lot of manufacturers focusing efforts on updating devices to the newer software rather than the older Android 7. We will keep this list up to date with the latest Nougat information as and when we have it.
Sadly, if you have a Nexus 5, you're going to miss out on the Android Nougat upgrade altogether. It misses Google's two-year cut off by a year. But it'll still get another year of Google's all-important security patches.

According to various reports on Twitter and elsewhere, T-Mobile this evening has stared rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat to its Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge models. The update comes complete with the February 1st security patches in place. It appears that T-Mobile and Samsung are starting the rollout with users who had been beta testing the software and will expand it from there.
During my review, I received the latest Android security update, which shows just how quickly LG rolls out updates for their devices. Unlike many of their competitors, the South Korean manufacturer seems to fully understand the importance of keeping software up to date.
